Brimbank Melton Youth Services Forum – A Successful Morning

On Wednesday 18th May, approximately 90 people attended the 2011 Brimbank Melton Youth Services Forum held at VU Sunshine Convention Centre.  The Forum was sponsored by the Brimbank/Melton LLEN in conjunction with Djerriwarrh Employment & Education Services (Youth Connections) and their Youth Connections partner in the region, WCIG.

Secondary school representatives in the Brimbank Melton area were in attendance as well as representatives from community agencies, service providers, Department of Education & Early Childhood development and other education providers.

Guest Speakers included Debbie Collings from Djerriwarrh Employment & Education Services (discussing Youth Connections),  Doug Smith, Education Consultant (discussing how our young people are faring, with an informative data presentation) and Key Speaker Danny Schwarz, CEO, from Youth Connect. Danny is passionate about better valuing, recognising and rewarding young people who choose an Applied Learning Pathway. The event was MC’d by Anthony Baker

The second half of the morning was devoted to information sharing with market stalls manned by 20 service providers providing information and literature to those in attendance.
