2023 Future Connect SBAT Breakfast

On Thursday, the 7th of September, Future Connect hosted its annual SBAT breakfast, a fantastic opportunity for our dedicated teachers from the Brimbank/Melton area to connect with our valued SBAT providers. In the early hours of the day, as the sun rose, so did the enthusiasm in the room. We witnessed a lively exchange of ideas, experiences, and visions for the future of School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs).

A storytelling panel led the momentum for the event from two remarkable young people, Sarah, and Jasmine, who shared their insights during the SBAT Breakfast. Attendees had the chance to ask questions about their SBAT experiences, gaining valuable real-world perspectives on the program's impact. It was an inspiring and informative session that showed the students' educational and career journeys.

Danielle McAuliffe, VCAA's Project Manager of VET, followed the speech by delivering an insightful presentation at the SBAT Breakfast. Her talk shed light on Vocational Education and Training (VET), emphasizing its significance in shaping students' career paths. It was a valuable session that broadened our understanding of VET's potential for our students.

Lastly, the event built further momentum through a networking round-robin session where teachers and SBAT providers could connect, collaborate, share knowledge, and access opportunities for their students. The networking session nurtured young people's talents through a shared collaboration by engaging in fruitful discussions with esteemed SBAT providers, including Endota, MEGT, MAS National, Integrity Business College, VACC, Head Start, and Leisure Employment Australia. These interactions established stronger partnerships to empower students with real-world skills and experiences.

We extend our thanks to our SBAT providers – Endota, MEGT, MAS National, Integrity Business College, VACC, HeadStart, and Leisure Employment Australia. Your presence and contributions were instrumental in making this event a success.
