Welcome to Najib Warsame

Hello and welcome to Future Connect for 2023. This month we are were excited to introduce a new staff member who’s joined the Future Connect team!

Najib Warsame is a multifaceted community practitioner who has just recently joined us as the School Industry Project Officer. The School Industry Project Officer position contributes to a comprehensive pathway and employment program across Future Connect.

Najib is versed in community engagement advocacy and storytelling. He has worked with communities in the west across different life stages. Najib’s community practice draws on principles from youth work, and community development, with other principles of counselling and mentoring intersecting in his practice to facilitate meaningful conversations with community members. Najib has worked in programming, learning, employment, capacity building, arts, and events. Najib is deeply passionate about representation, servicing and working in solidarity with marginalised communities who face systemic barriers to address systemic issues in a community informed way that centres self-determination and empowerment.
