Structured Workplace Learning (SWL)

SWL Logo Main

Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) occurs when a senior secondary student gets an opportunity to work with an employer to develop a set of skills or competencies. Students who do SWL may be undertaking the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) or Vocational Education and Training delivered in schools.

State Government funded SWL Service

From 2016, the 31 Local Learning & Employment Networks, LLENs, across Victoria have been funded to facilitate state-wide access to quality workplace learning opportunities. The state-wide SWL portal provides a single, easy to navigate information and referral point for SWL opportunities across various programs.

Students of or over 15 who are undertaking a VCE VET program or VCAL are able to access workplace learning opportunities that align with their studies.

Click on the State-wide SWL Portal  or the (TAB on the left) for more information about the state-wide website.

In Brimbank & Melton the SWL service is delivered by Future Connect.  It is coordinated by Lyndsay Mandaru and Di Debrincat.  Lyndsay works Tuesday to Thursday and Di works Tuesday to Friday.
