Successful Transition to Secondary School-Parents Making A Difference

The BMLLEN recently ran a series of Forums for Grade 5 and 6 parents on preparing their child for a successful transition to secondary school.  The BMLLEN engaged the services of Angie Wilcock, a highly regarded Australian expert and speaker on transition in education.  Angie has presented at National and State conferences, is an author and regularly appears in the media talking about parenting strategies to support young adolescent transition in education.

The forums were conducted on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 September in Melton and Brimbank.  Angie engaged parents in an interactive, informative and humorously entertaining discussion on what parents faced as their child moved into secondary schooling and adolescence.  The evenings were well supported and acclaimed by parents that attended.  The theme of the presentation was-
