Brimbank/Melton LLEN 2011 AGM
The Brimbank/Melton LLEN Annual General Meeting for 2011 was held last Monday evening, May 9th, at The WestWaters Hotel in Caroline Springs.
An interesting presentation was made at the AGM by Mary Cahill. Assisting Mary in her presentation were Marie Dobson and Varda Philippou.
Mary Cahill is a former secondary school principal and now education consultant. She has been working with the WMR Department of Education and Early Childhood Development since mid 2009 gathering information and conducting research on the experience of refugee students.
The BMLLEN engaged her services to conduct the Refugee Transitions Project in 2010-2011 to pilot an approach informed by Brimbank principals through their Regional Network Structure. Mary will detail some of the key findings of the project and indications for future successful transition support for refugee students in the Brimbank region.
