2017 Brimbank Melton Youth Services Expo
The 2017 Brimbank Melton Youth Services Expo was on Wednesday 13 September. This Expo enabled Youth service providers to showcase their services to secondary school staff. There was a highly positive response from all who attended. The event took place across two rooms at Lakeside Banquet & Convention Centre which high-lighted the two part structure of this Professional Development event.
Tina Brooks, Manager of Health, Wellbeing and Specialist Services for the Brimbank Melton region, delivered an overview of Education Department’s services and introduced her team representing Koorie Education Support Officers, Respectful Relationships, Health, Wellbeing and Engagement Support, Disability Coordination, School Nursing and Visiting Teachers.
The 2-minute showcase featured short sharp and effective introductions by 21 services to local services and programs – offering attendees an opportunity to gain a strong overview of what’s available and make notes of how they could support young people in their service/school.
The Youth Services Expo featured 27 exhibitor tables. Service providers and school staff were able to seek out relevant Exhibitors, gain additional information and set up future opportunities for collaboration.
All attendees were given a copy of the new 2017 – 2018 Brimbank Melton Youth Services Directory. Copies of the directory will be delivered to all schools in the BMLLEN region. An electronic and a PDF version of the directory will be available on the BMLLEN website.
