Successful Transition to Secondary School – Grade 5 & 6 Parent Forum
The BMLLEN ran an evening for Grade 5 & 6 parents in preparing their child for a successful transition to Secondary School on Thursday 20th September at the Melton Community Hall. The session was presented by Angie Wilcock, a highly regarded expert and acclaimed speaker on adolescence and transition to secondary schooling.
Ms Wilcock engaged the parents in an interactive, informative and humorously entertaining forum on strategies and what they faced as their child moved into secondary schooling and adolescence.
The evening was widely acclaimed by the parents. Some of the comments made included; ‘Tonight was great and unexpected. I have learny many things to apply to my own working life as well as my son’s school life’. ‘Great presentation! How to get kids to set goals’.
The BMLLEN will be running a further evening in the Brimbank area on Thursday, 25th October 2012 at Victoria University, Sunshine Convention Centre, Ballarat Rd Sunshine from 6:30pm to 8:00pm
