This year's Brimbank Careers Exploration Day brought together over 1,500 secondary school students from across Brimbank for an interactive event designed to inspire and inform their career journeys.

Now a flagship annual event organised by Future Connect, the Careers Exploration Day is an important opportunity for students in Years 10–12 to connect directly with industry experts, educators, training providers, employers, and local partners, all under one roof.

In 2026 we will continue our Interactivity theme to encourage hands-on, meaningful conversations, and moments of discovery. Students have the chance to explore career options, gather insights, and build their confidence in shaping their post-school pathways.

Ambulance Victoria brought along an ambulance so students could take "the ambulance tour", ADF Careers brought a tank and Victoria Police supplied a police vehicle.

Thanks to Harvester Technical College for bringing along their tools and equipment and for providing students with a mini try-a-trade exhibit. VU brought their welding unit.

The Careers Exploration Day continues to expand each year, with more exhibitors and schools participating to ensure Brimbank’s young people have access to future-focused opportunities.

Resources for Teachers

Feedback from exhibitors at last year’s Brimbank Careers Exploration Day highlighted the need for students to be better prepared for meaningful interactions.

In response, this year, Ava Ter, Communication Officer at Future Connect, developed a mobile-friendly 2025 Brimbank Careers Exploration Student Guide. This resource provides sample questions that students can ask exhibitors, tailored to different industries

The guide was shared with teachers before the event to support student preparation and enhance engagement on the day. The goal was to ensure a more relevant and valuable experience for students as they explore career opportunities.

To view the document as a PDF Click here. Students can also access the guide through the Future Connect App.

  1. Download the Future Connect App
  2. Open the app and scroll to the bottom of the home page.
  3. Click on “Careers Exploration Resource”, then “Student Preparation” to view the document.

Feedback

This year’s event continues to include a post-event survey to capture student feedback and insights, helping Future Connect and partners improve the experience each year.
